Otherwise known as "the Job Search."
I have courageously decided to move cities and jobs and have been mercilessly kicked in the head by the job market for attempting such a feat.
Every day I send my flimsy resume out into the big world and never hear of it again. If I apply to positions I find online: idealist, monsterjobs, hotjobs, careerbuilder, I end up finishing the application before figuring out that the "exciting opportunity" to be an "office editor" is really just glorified language for a secretary position that I don't want.
But I wake up everyday, anyway, anxiously check my inbox, change two or three words on my resume and shove it back out there.
I do get an occasional email from some employer that has looked at my resume. The last one was for an exciting opportunity to answer phones at a modeling agency (talk about a confidence-crusher!)
Oh, well, onward soldier.

Hang in there, lew. You'll find something eventually. Perhaps you can run the James River professionally?
Yeah, maybe I can tend to the elusive Cove.
